What If Something Goes Wrong?
In the extremely rare event of loss, theft, or damage during shipping, contact us immediately at claims@novasgems.com. We'll open a carrier investigation within 24 hours and provide you with a replacement or full refund while we handle the insurance claim - at no cost to you.
Customs & Import Duties
Understanding International Duties
When ordering gemstones internationally, you may be responsible for customs duties, taxes, and fees imposed by your country:
Taxes levied by your country on imported gemstones and luxury goods
Value-added tax or goods and services tax based on your country's rate
Administrative fees charged by customs authorities for clearance
Fees charged by carriers (DHL/FedEx/UPS) for customs clearance services

Buyer Responsibility
Customs duties, taxes, and import fees are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in our product prices or shipping costs. We declare the actual purchase value of all shipments as required by international law.
DDP Shipping Available
For select countries, we offer Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping where all customs duties and taxes are prepaid at checkout. This ensures no surprise charges upon delivery and faster customs clearance.

Delivery Issues
Failed Delivery Attempts
If our carrier is unable to deliver your package:
Carrier attempts delivery. If no one is available, a notice is left with instructions.
You receive email and SMS notification of the failed attempt with rescheduling options.
Carrier will attempt delivery 2-3 times total, with notifications each time.
Package may be held at a local DHL/FedEx/UPS facility for pickup at your convenience.
After final attempt (usually 7-10 days), unclaimed packages return to us.
Refused or Unclaimed Shipments
If a shipment is refused at delivery or remains unclaimed:
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable
- Return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund
- Refund will be processed once we receive and inspect the returned package
- Any customs fees or duties paid are non-refundable
- International returns may take 2-3 weeks to process
Incorrect Address
Please ensure your shipping address is complete and accurate before placing your order:
Pro Tip: Use a business address or arrange to be home during the expected delivery window. Signature is required and packages cannot be left unattended.
